The Smiths - A Boy In A Bush

16 February 1984 - University Of Leicester - Leicester, England

This concert went down well, but it wasn't the most memorable of the tour. After "Hand In Glove" Morrissey greeted his audience "Hello Leicester!". "Pretty Girls Make Graves" was introduced with the warning "Oh incidentally, pretty girls make graves." "Barbarism Begins At Home" was preceded with the line "This song is called 'Barbarism Begins At Home' and you should know by now... you're all grown up people now, you got to face it". "Back To The Old House" was introduced as "Oh this is for all you big softies." After "What Difference Does It Make?" the Smiths left stage while Morrissey shouted "Goodbye! Goodbye!" They soon returned for one encore before which Morrissey said "Thank you Leicester!" In that final song, "You've Got Everything Now", Morrissey changed a line to "No, I've never had a job because frankly, I just don't want one!".
